Republican AGs Announce Adam Piper as Executive Director


WASHINGTON D.C. – The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) announced today that RAGA Policy Director, Adam Piper, has been hired as the organization’s next Executive Director.

“Adam Piper is one of the most respected political leaders among Republican state attorneys general. His role as Executive Director is well-deserved; Adam is a trusted and accomplished professional who he is respected by my colleagues and their staffs,” said RAGA Chairman Ken Paxton. “Adam is already working to implement an aggressive plan to elect more rule of law defenders who will join our fight. RAGA is glad to have this talented operative on board and excited to see the accomplishments we will share in the very near future.”

Piper will succeed outgoing RAGA Executive Director Scott Will, who has served in the role since 2014 and with RAGA since 2013.

“I firmly believe RAGA is the most underrated political organization in Washington,” said outgoing RAGA Executive Director Scott Will. “We consistently punch above our weight, and in five short years we have become the most prolific player in state attorney general races. Adam Piper, who has been in the attorney general world for a decade, is uniquely qualified for this post and I know will lead this organization to even greater heights.”

“I am grateful for the trust Chairman Paxton and his fellow Republican Attorneys General have placed in me,” said RAGA Executive Director Adam Piper. “Serving in this role is an exceptional honor and I am confident we can regain the majority of state attorneys general in 2019. I am also confident we can continue to recruit, elect, and re-elect strong attorney general candidates who are committed to promoting, protecting, and preserving the rule of law in 2019, 2020, and beyond.”

Piper has served RAGA as its Policy Director and spearheaded its sister organization, the Rule of Law Defense Fund (RLDF), over the past two years. While leading RLDF, Piper more than tripled its policy programming and doubled the organization’s budget. Prior to joining RAGA, Piper held numerous titles and positions in the South Carolina Attorney General’s office including Executive Director. He is also a veteran of numerous Presidential campaigns and has consulted and managed campaigns at the local, state, and federal level. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
