(WASHINGTON) – Two strong Republican leaders advanced last night to the primary runoff in Mississippi. Lynn Fitch and Andy Taggart are both well positioned to be the Magnolia State’s next attorney general. Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) Executive Director Adam Piper released the following statement on the state of the race.
“Regardless of whether Lynn Fitch or Andy Taggart prevails after the August 27 primary runoff election, Mississippi voters will have a drastic choice between the Republican candidate and the Democrat’s radically liberal candidate, Jennifer Riley Collins. As Executive Director of the Mississippi ACLU, Riley Collins supported extreme San Francisco positions that are more popular in Hollywood than with Magnolia State voters.
“We look forward to ensuring Mississippi has its first Republican attorney general since Reconstruction.”
