Louisiana voters soundly re-elected incumbent Republican Attorney General Jeff Landry today, earning Landry another four-year term and avoiding a runoff election next month.
Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) Chairman and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released the following statement congratulating Landry on his victory.
“Jeff Landry is a fierce defender of the law and a leader among all attorneys general, regardless of party affiliation, which is why he shines as President of the National Association of Attorneys General and on the Executive Committee of RAGA. I turn to Jeff regularly because he is rooted firmly in conservative principles and never waivers from the rule of law. The people of Louisiana are lucky to have Jeff Landry serving as Attorney General for another four years.”
RAGA Executive Director Adam Piper echoed Chairman Paxton’s remarks.
“RAGA is proud to have supported Attorney General Jeff Landry in his re-election and excited to see the results he will achieve in his next term Louisiana Attorney General. General Landry has a record of strongly combatting burdensome overreach by the federal government, protecting Louisianans with pre-existing conditions, and working with law enforcement to put violent criminals behind bars. This is the first step towards our southern sweep in 2019. We look forward to similar victories in Kentucky and Mississippi next month.”
