Position Title: Deputy Political Director
Organization: Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA)
Location: Washington, D.C.
Full-time, in-office: 8:30 – 5:30 p.m. Eastern.
Position Summary
The Deputy Political Director serves as a key member of RAGA’s political team and plays an important role in advancing efforts to elect Republican Attorneys General nationwide. This position supports the development and execution of political strategy, manages candidate and campaign relationships, oversees vendor partnerships, coordinates political operations, and provides strategic and operational support for key initiatives across competitive races.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Attorney General races nationwide, including candidate activity, polling, opposition research, and key political developments.
- Track spending across races and provide regular updates and reporting to senior leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned candidates, campaign staff, and political stakeholders.
- Maintain and update calendars of primary elections, conventions, filing deadlines, and other key dates.
- Draft and develop political messaging and materials in support of RAGA-backed candidates and initiatives.
- Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for political vendors.
- Assist with building, coordinating, and managing vendor teams for priority races.
- Support candidate recruitment efforts, campaign strategy discussions, and political meetings.
- Prepare meeting materials, including detailed briefings, agendas, presentations, and follow-up items.
- Develop and maintain presentations and slide decks for internal and external audiences.
- Travel as needed for candidate events, recruitment efforts, and RAGA political meetings.
- Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior political campaign, committee, government, or related experience required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
