Washington, D.C. – The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) released the following statements today after President Trump appointed Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey as Co-Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
“Andrew Bailey has been a fierce advocate for protecting our foundational American principles,” said Kansas Attorney General and RAGA Chairman Kris Kobach. “He will be an excellent Co-Deputy Director of the FBI, and use his national platform to continue tirelessly defending the Constitution and enforcing law and order. Our nation’s Republican AGs are proud to have worked with Andrew on some of the biggest legal fights in recent years, including holding China and big tech accountable, and working to secure our southern border. His transition to this critical role at the national level is a testament to his commitment to public service and dedication to helping President Trump Make America Safe Again.”
“Andrew Bailey has always answered the call of service, from the Army to U.S. Attorney, to Attorney General, and now as Co-Deputy Director of the FBI,” said RAGA Executive Director Adam Piper. “While we’re sad to see Andrew Bailey leave our AG ranks, we look forward to working with him in his new capacity. AG Bailey is the latest in the list of dozens of AGs and AG staff alumni to have been trusted by President Trump to serve our nation in the most important positions throughout the Administration and judiciary. We appreciate President Trump’s recognition of the impact attorneys general and their staff have on Keeping America Safe.”
