WASHINGTON – The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) today condemned the sudden call for a special legislative session as nothing more than a desperate Democratic ploy to divert attention from Jay Jones and his recently announced criminal investigation.

What Democratic leadership is billing as an urgent gathering on “priorities” is clearly just a Jay Jones Special Session: a thinly veiled attempt to bury headlines and the truth about Democratic candidate Jay Jones’ laundry list of improprieties.

“Virginia Democrats are in full panic mode,” said RAGA Executive Director Adam Piper. “Instead of calling for Jay Jones to drop out because of his murderous text message and being the subject of a criminal fraud investigation – they’re  playing partisan games forcing lawmakers to return to Richmond for a special session that’s a bigger farce than Jay Jones “community service.”

This isn’t leadership; it’s a cover-up.

RAGA urges Virginia voters, lawmakers, and leaders to label this session for what it is: the Jay Jones Special Session – nothing more than a smoke screen for Democrats and a Hail Mary for a failing campaign.
