The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) today announced Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach was elected RAGA Chairman unanimously by his Republican attorney general colleagues at a meeting this week. Kobach’s one-year term as chairman begins November 6, 2024.

“It is a great honor to have been selected by my 27 colleagues to lead the organization of Republican attorneys general that has been so pivotal in stopping unconstitutional actions of the Biden-Harris administration,” said Kansas Attorney General and incoming RAGA Chairman Kris Kobach. “The last four years have demonstrated just how important state attorneys general are when the executive branch defies the Constitution or the law, and Congress is unable or unwilling to act. I appreciate Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes’s steady leadership over the past year. I look forward to leading our organization in the year ahead.”

Throughout the Biden Presidency, Republican AGs have filed 183 lawsuits and successfully stopped illegal actions taken by the Biden-Harris Administration. Republican AGs have proven to be the most effective group of elected officials at upholding the rule of law and defending the Constitution.

“2024 will be remembered as a year of record RAGA fundraising and record political spending in swing states Pennsylvania and North Carolina,” said Utah Attorney General and outgoing RAGA Chairman Sean Reyes. “The last year has also been marked by enormously successful legal challenges against the Biden-Harris Administration and holding companies accountable for illegal ESG policies. Serving as RAGA Chairman this year has been an excellent capstone on my 11 years as Utah Attorney General. I plan to work hard for my final month as Chairman leading to Election Day. Then, I wish my colleagues and incoming Chairman Krish Kobach tremendous success as they continue to uphold the Constitution and defend the rule of law.”

“In less than two years, Kris Kobach has become one of our nation’s most active attorneys general and strongest advocates for our founding principles,” said RAGA Executive Director Peter Bisbee. “This should come as no surprise considering Kobach’s career of principled leadership on the most important issues facing our nation. Attorney General Kobach is an excellent choice to lead RAGA at a time when the administrative state needs to be held accountable to a new standard established by the Supreme Court and both corporate and government bad actors refuse to follow the law.”

In addition to Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach’s election as RAGA Chairman, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson was elected RAGA Vice Chairman. The following attorneys general serve on the Executive Committee.
