Nebraska’s new Attorney General (AG), outgoing Speaker of the Nebraska Legislature Mike Hilgers, was today elected without opposition from a Democrat candidate.

“The fact that Mike Hilgers ran unopposed for one of Nebraska’s most prestigious statewide offices, without even being the incumbent, is a testament to his leadership and intellect, as well as the respect he receives from both Democrats and Republicans,” said RAGA Chairman South Carolina AG Alan Wilson. “We will be stronger as a coalition of Republican AGs for having Mike’s in-depth knowledge of state government, law making, and the Constitution.”

“Mike Hilgers will hit the ground running on day one,” said RAGA Executive Director Peter Bisbee. “He has a reputation in Nebraska for being a Constitutional conservative and it won’t be long before his reputation is known nationally, as he takes up some of the most important legal and Constitutional fights of our time in defense of the rule of law.”
