Safer North Carolina, a group backed by the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), today released an ad on broadcast titled, “Less Safe,” which features liberal Jeff Jackson’s record of supporting the early release of violent criminals. “Less Safe” expands on a seven-figure digital buy that recently started.

Frighteningly, murders in Charlotte increased by 35% from last year and they have nearly doubled in Raleigh. Meanwhile, in Durham, robberies are driving an increase in violent crimes. Unfortunately, North Carolina residents are also one of the nation’s most vulnerable to break-ins.

“We don’t need to look any further than Jeff Jackson’s liberal voting record to know what type of Attorney General he would be,” said RAGA Executive Director Peter Bisbee. “Jeff Jackson has a history of supporting bad laws that embolden criminals. Violent crime is on the rise in North Carolina and Jeff Jackson will make the problem worse.”

TRANSCRIPT:
“For the first time in 13 years, North Carolina’s violent crime rate is higher than the national rate.

“A new CMPD report shows the city is seeing a 300% increase in homicides committed by teenagers.

“With violent crime on the rise, North Carolina needs an Attorney General who will keep us safe.

“But Jeff Jackson won’t keep us safe.

“Jeff Jackson voted to allow early release of violent criminals from prison – Murderers, rapists, carjackers.

“Jeff Jackson won’t keep us safe.”
